Dickman Legacy Lodge

Not one but two….the end of the rainbows at Dickman’s Legacy Lodge.  A compliment to the beautiful sunrises.  Obviously the aliens are impressed also, as a UFO can be seen in the last picture.

But still much to do……

Obviously much has happened in the last few months.  Officially we moved in on April 1st and that’s no fooling.  Note the stone steps in the front, stone columns and the stone foundation.  The first picture shows the new gutters on the front with underground drainage going under the garage.

The old carport slab was saved in the demolition, which in hind sight, may not have been the best choice.  A new slab was poured over it,  and because of damage and varying slopes, required thicknesses up to 9 inches to get a proper slope and level for the porch steps.

Solid Birch cabinets from the old lake house were saved for use in the laundry/tackle/mud room.  Note the perfect fit resulting from precise engineering and design (lol).

Gaylord Flooring in Canada was the only hardwood floor supplier that we could find that offered quality hickory wide plank, pre-finished, flooring in long lengths.  Pictures are of the sun room and dining room.  We love the color diversity of the hickory.  Do you?

Sorry for the delay in postings!  Much has happened and i will try to catch up.  Custom Hickory cabinets are installed in the kitchen.

Happy Birthday Jeremy!   Take notice Jeff and Danny, Jeremy has started to re-claim the bricks saved from the old house.  Great effort!

Cultured marble showers are all installed.  Ceramic tile installation continues and is nearly complete on the first floor.  Cabinets are due for installation next Monday.  Steps and hand rails are installed to the second level, but need to have clear coat finish.  Painting is slowly progressing.

Although showing the dirt from construction traffic, the Trex deck (in Havana Gold color) is beautiful and will last a lifetime.  Install of the front porch started today.

Electrical service has been re-installed by Three Notch Electric.  The old power pole was removed and replaced with a taller pole and larger electrical transformer to service our house and our neighbors.  Instead of an overhead line to the house, workers run the electrical cable nearly six feet underground to the lodge.

Sorry Bob, they didn’t seem to have any respect for the azaleas, but i will nourish them back to health after their trampling.  The new 400 amp service is installed and we have power!
