Septic Tank Installation

A new 1000 gallon septic tank has been installed and provides double the capacity of the old house.  Thank goodness we poured wide, deep footings as you can see how close the hole is being dug to the side of the house.  Visions of the house caving in were still in my head.  Worker in the hole gives perspective to the deep and breadth.

Quality…doing it right the first time!

An inexperienced sprayer of stain quickly created an unacceptable finish on the north side of the house as viewed in the first two pictures.  Attempts to blend out the blotches was relatively successful but left the bottom half of the wall considerably darker than the top half as seen in picture three.  One thing i have learned in 45 years of business is that all projects have problems.  It is how those problems are solved that determines the success or failure of a project.  Our builder has integrity and took responsibility for the problem.  All of the stain on the bottom half of the wall had to be stripped off and the logs re-sanded and prepped for staining again.  This was a multi-week effort by numerous people to correct the problem.

Drywall Progress Pictures

Hanging of the drywall was completed on Monday after 2-1/2 days of work.
The finishers finally arrived today in mass.  Eight workers quickly went to work and made excellent progress.  They will continue working through the weekend and everyday until complete.  This will be a milestone accomplishment which will clear the way for multiple crafts to begin working again as we race to the finish line.

Staining Begins

A Dark Natural stain is applied by sprayer and then brushed in.  The darker the stain, the greater the UV protection and the longer the finish will last.  You can see the difference in color between the stained and unstained logs in two of the pictures.  The fascia boards still need another coat of stain.  Two coats were applied to the logs.
