Dickman Legacy Lodge

The main roof rafters are placed on 24 inch centers.  The open areas in the roof will be filled with the gables for the two porches.  Those will be completed in the next few days.

Fifty one engineered TGI’s will be set for the main roof.  TGI’s provide stability and dimensional consistency that cannot be found in 2 x 12 rafters.  The result will be a smooth (not wavy) roof.

The awesome sun rise captured and posted on election day did prove to be the positive omen as predicted.  Proof positive (for my non-believing friends and family) that there really is a God.

The ridge beam is over 66 feet long and is erected in three sections.  The beam is a 5 inch LVL that is 18 inches deep.  The video shows the first of three sections being raised nearly 40 feet in the air.

Support structures are set in preparation for erecting the main ridge beam.  The second photo shows that the ridge beam will be nearly 20 feet above the second floor.

At the legacy lodge you don’t have to get up early to go fishing or hunting, but if you don’t get up for the sunrise you’ll be missing a lot.  Second and third pictures are out of the sun room window space.  Let’s hope the beautiful sunrise is a good omen for the election.

Jeff, Kelly and the boys arrive to check out the progress.   Jeff and Tyler inspect the view from the second floor and find that they are now in the trees.   Blake inspects the fishing at the legacy lodge and shows they can be caught off the dock.  All by himself.

Tongue and groove decking is installed.  The big open area is the great room where a cathedral ceiling will be erected.  The small open area that can be seen in the upper right center of the 4th picture will have scissor trusses for the sun room.

Eighteen inch high trusses on 16 inch centers along with massive beams support the second floor and weight of the roof structure.

Engineered floor trusses arrive at the site.  Installation begins setting trusses on top of the first floor framing.
